a. SHELL MARKETS MIDDLE EAST – The Middle Eastern hub for the Shell group of energy and petrochemicals companies with around 90,000 employees in more than 80 countries and territories Pricing & Business Development Manager / Marketing Implementer – Commercial Fuels. This position is a merger of Pricing & marketing responsibilities. Also Change Agent for CF, overseeing switch over to new GSAP system without any loss to the business. Maintaining a fine balance between optimization of Volumes & Margin in a severely challenged market through right Marketing & Pricing initiatives are the major functions of this role. Also lead roll-out of 5 year Plan for the OU with regular monitoring & pro-active remedial action as well as Strategic mapping for the business along with the BM Key Account Manager cum Marketing Implementer – Commercial Fuels. While handling some of the company’s corporate accounts also handled Marketing activities for the business. Responsibilities included Monthly tracking of Business Levers, Implementation of Marketing Plan and Roll-out of CVPs, Demand Forecast to Supply Chain, Regular Marketing Intelligence reports to team to enable active prospecting, Developing Intermediaries business, Implementing Price Revisions as appropriate thru’ tracking of MOPAG and market price movements. Marketing Communications Executive – Middle East & Central Asian States This role was part of the East Zone Lubricants Marketing Team covering marketing activities in UAE, the Regional Markets (Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria) and the Emerging markets (the Central Asian States, Iran & Sri Lanka). The position also included Brand and Communications responsibility for this geography. Being part of a virtual team of communication specialists sharing best practices across the zone, there also were opportunities to contribute towards development & implementation of promotional campaigns to be used zonally and in the MECAS territory. Also had the duty of monitoring & making optimum use of the SP&A budget for the region b. EMIRATES NEON The pioneer in outdoor advertising in the Gulf, while also diversifying into states other than the G C C like Russia, India, Pakistan, Japan etc., with an annual turnover of over Dhs 60 million, offers LED boards (electronic billboards) Tri- Vision as well as static Signboards on Roof -Tops & Unipoles, Twin poles, Lamp posts, Back-lits, Neon signs, Awnings, Banners and other signages. Dy Media Manager (Aug’99 till September ‘03) - Responsible for a team of five in new business development, Servicing existing Corporate accounts, Training, Preparation of promotional tools Assistant Sales & Marketing Manager ( Jan’97 to July ‘99) - Establish contact and develop business with potential clients, keep good relations with existing clients and advertising agencies, prepare marketing tools for promotion of media (Brochures, Map). c. COMNET (Now Anixter)- Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone - Dubai - Master distributor for Bay Networks ( A merger between Synoptics & Wellfleet of U S A)- intelligent Networking devices Sun Micro Systems - USA- UNIX workstations R W Data - UK- Patch panels, face plates and path cords DATARACKS- UK- High quality cabinets, Panels KRONE Communications -UK- cabling & Connectivity equipment FIBREOPTIC -UK - Cable, Fusion Splicers & Test equipment with distribution rights over UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, S. Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan & Iraq. ....and a stock of over a million dollars at all points of time Marketing Head - Responsible for the whole gamut of marketing operations like preparation of marketing plan, implementation of specific campaigns, preparation of promotional literature like brochures, leaflets, pamphlets, direct mail etc organizing for participation in exhibitions and so on. It also included Long & short -term planning through Business/SWOT Analysis for expansion & diversification, Market Research on new entrants/developments in the field, Customer relations, Co-ordination between suppliers, sales force & customers, Import-Export formalities, Logistics planning, inventory management etc. Actively involved in GITEX-95, the biggest IT exhibition in the Middle-East being responsible from design of stand to implementation to PIR. d. THE FERTILISERS AND CHEMICALS TRAVANCORE LTD Over 12 years in various capacities in a multi-product, multi-activity petrochemical public sector giant in India with an annual turnover of over US$250 million and an employee strength of over 8,000. Manager (Administration)- Head of the department of around 60 employees handling procurement, liaison, public relations, and asset management all over the country etc. Assistant Public Relations Manager - The corporate Public relations department handles the entire range of corporate communications - internal viz. in-house journals & other communication between top management & staff as well as external like promoting corporate image through liaison with the print and electronic media (press releases / conferences), community relations, etc. It plans and designs advertising campaigns / brochures with the help of contracted advertising agencies, handles guest relations and so on. Corporate Planning Officer-- Was handpicked for the job demanding a high level of technical skill in assisting the Chief Executive in long term planning, market scan for future growth / diversification of the company, decision-making on new proposals, SWOT& PESTLE Analysis for existing strength/weakness identification, Overall Performance Analysis thru’ various Management Ratios, Annual as well as Five-year plan for existing production/ marketing activities, Identification of associated sun-shine industries for Diversification, Expansion of existing facilities (to match demand-supply gap in the territory of operation), Expansion of marketing territory, Manpower/ Inventory planning to accommodate the above growth, Financial Planning/ Budgeting etc.
